Axxess is a leading provider of support, consulting, training and technology services in the home health industry. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will assist with financial closing process, journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, sales tax reporting and property taxes, as well as various other accounting functions as directed. The position is based in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Accounting Manager with special projects and month end close
- Assist in preparing month end journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statement report packages for management
- Revenue recognition tracking
- Aid in preparation and review of customer invoices in Accounts Receivable. Reconcile A/R accounts at month end. Apply cash receipts and prepare bank deposits for cash received
- Additional ad hoc accounting projects as directed by the accounting manager
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- Four plus years working in various accounting functions
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Must have solid understanding of US GAAP
- Advanced excel knowledge required (pivot tables, V look-up, etc.)
- SaaS/deferred revenue experience a plus
- Tax and IFRS experience a plus
- Collections experience a plus
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Able to complete projects on a timely basis and execute projects according to schedule
- Must have good verbal and written communication
- Supervisory experience a plus
- Able to exercise good judgement; important to be able to raise issues to Controller when appropriate
- Demonstrate ability to manage work independently
